Profile of My Person

I am a systemic family therapist and have many years of professional experience as a business educator.

Systemic family therapy is an established, widely used, and successful form of psychotherapy worldwide.

To strengthen my psychotherapeutic competence, I focused my dissertation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business on psychologically deviant student behavior in higher education. These young people experience one of the most intense periods of life (adolescence/puberty) and are often in distress.

Through this specialization, I have realized a bridge between psychotherapy and pedagogy by comprehensively reflecting on my knowledge and experiences in both areas theoretically.

In general, dealing with relationships, especially disturbances and disruptions, forms the focus of my therapeutic work.

‘Relationship management’ is of central importance in all types of relationships. ‘Relationships’ are characterized by an internal and external perspective.

  • On one hand, the family and social environment (e.g., workplace), i.e., the external perspective, are of central importance.
  • On the other hand, the relationship with oneself, i.e., the internal perspective, is important.
  • The interaction between these perspectives leads to a dynamic balance or imbalance and significantly determines our quality of life.

These relationship fields form the central focus of my therapeutic work.

By ‘management of relationships,’ I understand the therapeutic engagement with communication disorders, for example in partnerships. It also includes the treatment of more severe pathological forms of disorders such as personality disorders, depression, and anxiety states.

Somatic diseases such as eating disorders (anorexia, obesity), etc., are occurring more frequently. A comprehensive presentation of my therapeutic basic understanding can be found under the menu item ‘My Offer‘.

It is important to me to briefly explain how I developed my passion and interest in psychotherapy in the first place.

I would like to list some motives for my work in keywords:

  • As a mother of two children, I experienced very early on the high value of relationships for a successful life.
  • As an outdoor trainer, I was able to observe how interactions between seminar participants can lead to fulfilling experiences.
  • As a seminar leader for horse seminars (‘Communication, teambuilding leadership by horses’), I perceived the vulnerability and sensitivity of relationships, for example in the context of exercises between seminar participants and horses.
  • As a business educator with many years of teaching experience, I experienced the importance of a communication culture between students, between teachers and students, and among teachers.
Emotional injuries as a result of breaks in these relationship networks are the subject of my work.
  • My experiences as a business consultant taught me the importance of communication problems, especially between supervisors and employees. The climate in departments is significantly determined by successful communication between all parties involved.

I invite all future clients whose interest in therapeutic collaboration has been awakened by this website to begin a joint journey of change with me – according to the African proverb: ‘Even the longest journey begins with the first step…’
